Grange-over-Sands

The Grange Hotel is situated in Grange over Sands, one of South Lakeland`s prettiest small towns. The town sprung up when the railway arrived, back in the mid 1800s, and soon became a favourite holiday spot for wealthy Victorians because of its fresh sea air, wonderful views and lovely walks.

Today, the town remains remarkably unchanged and still boasts many of its attractive original Victorian and Edwardian buildings and features – such as the bandstand in the gardens along the esplanade, the clock tower at the top of the town and the magnificent mile-long promenade. The ornamental gardens offer a haven of peace with quiet areas where you can sit and feed the ducks.

The town also offers a wide range of amenities including a library, chemist, post office and myriad interesting little shops. The nearby village of Cartmel is also a wonderful place to visit with its quaint village square, historic priory and cosy pubs.
